CITA-CITA LEARNING CENTRE
Programs at CitaCita include:
(a)
Intensive Individual Instruction – this program is a program for children with communication and
behavioural issues ( i.e. ASD, ADHD ). It utilises the methods employed in Applied Behavioural
Analysis (ABA), Applied Verbal Behaviour (AVB), The Picture Exchange Communication (PECS) and more.
(b)
Early Intervention Program (EIP) – this program is for children aged 6 years and below. Groups are
small, with a ratio of 1 teacher to 4 students. Children in the group receive 6 individual sessions per week.

(c)
Junior Program (Jprog) – this program is for children aged 7 – 12 years. Children are taught pre –
and academic skills, physical activities (e.g. Obstacle course) are also encouraged. Children continue to
receive individual instruction but with less frequency.
(d)
Senior Program (Sprog) – included in this program are pre vocational activities. The group is bigger. A
majority of students in this group are unable to attend mainstream school because of their physical needs
and behavioural issues. They are taught home economics, gardening, art, self help and independent living
skills, and functional academics.

(e)
Team Leader Program – this program was started in July 2002 to encourage parents to take a more
proactive approach to their child’s education at CitaCita. Each child has a or a team of Leaders (TL)
who is responsible of designing and implementing the child’s individual program. S/He also meets with
parents monthly to discuss the program and also to run practical workshops (e.g. teaching bathing skills)
(f)
Multi Disciplinary Services – is made up of a team of professionals trained in the fields of Occupational
Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech-Language Therapy and Music Therapy. These therapies are provided
to students who need such therapeutic intervention. The therapist either provides direct intervention
or s/he works an aide.

(g)
Family Support Group (FSG) - CitaCita has a Family Support Group for families of children attending the
centre. Activities of FSG include discussion among parents, Presentation by parents and professinal,
Workshops, support and more.
